Chanel Le Vernis in June

I am probably the 23567th person caught gripping the Chanel Le Vernis for Spring 2012 like that. So, this is not a review, but more of an update on Chinese New Year.

But I have my own story to Le Vernis in June.

I think most of us have some sort of innate justification to why we buy certain things, no matter how ridiculous it may seem to others, and mine, is simply because I am born in June.

When I first heard of the three Chanel for Spring colours, I just couldn't believe Chanel made a nail polish for me! Yes, it feels like it's being made for me, even though I know there are millions of people born in June. It is just that special.

On top of that, it comes in a colour, tone, and shade that I personally like. I like light colours, and I like milky shades. The softness of April, May, and June just touches me the way Spring does.

Furthermore, peach is a tone that looks like it can go well with yellow skin tones.

So that's is, I've just got to try.

I didn't get May, and I don't intend to, because it looks too cool for me. I tried to buy April, but it was out of stock at the counter I went to, and I didn't go and look over Singapore for it.

On a review point of view, however, I still don't like the Chanel paint as much, no matter how gorgeous their colours truly are. I already have hair line cuts on my nails, the morning after application because it can't dry fast enough, partly due to the fact that this needs 2-3 coatings. While OPI is very monotone, and counter brands are highly multi-toned, I really prefer the paints being smooth and flawless to colour.

Nevertheless, this is a colour that is neutral enough to be worn to work, so hurray, I can keep using it.

haha, I was looking at my nail polish collection yesterday while packing for CNY, and I realise how many weird M.A.C paints I have, and that I will never use them. I know what a waste that is. And I have actually resolved to only buy if I can use frequently, and have been sticking to my resolve.

Anyhow, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!
May the Dragon year be wonderful and fruitful for all.

Yours truly,
Jyoan

PS: Will post the Face of Chanel Spring 2012 after I take my CNY shots!
