haha, yes, feel like hugging my long-awaited camera everyday and saying I love you.
(okay, I know, sounds like I am abandoning my H, over a camera.)
In terms of specifications, HX9V has everything I have been wishing for since I bought my first digital camera, Sony H5, in 2006.
Basically, it has 16x Optical Zoom, 2x more than the 14x of H5.
It is so super slim compared to the brick of H5.
It's steadyshot is a lot more steady than Sony's steadyshot 5 years ago.
It is sharper, has more contrasts, absorbs nicer colours.
And I LOVE PANAROMA SWEEP!
You should never get panaroma without the sweep feature.
The sweep feature just makes traditional panaroma so stupid.
I also LOVE BACKGROUND DEFOCUS function.
This is the one thing that DSLR users so love to claim only DSLR can do, and try to dig us compact users. Hey, now, we have it too! Okay, maybe DSLR is still more precise and blah and blah and blah.
I am beginning to love using the SOFT SKIN FEATURE. I basically don't need to makeup, and I look all made up now. Yes, Barbie doll skin, I assure you. But stemming from my dislike towards photoshopped pictures, I will not use it if I wanted to showcase effects of skincare or makeup products. I mean, it just doesn't makes sense right, to show you a skincare product and post artificially skin-softened photos. (I am not some tv/magazine advert where everything is photoshopped.)
Just a random rave here. Probably do a more professional review when I've got nicer photos other than random takes in my own house. =)
