Tully's Coffee @ Orchard Central

I have the pic for this one... Can't seem to find it from my hp right now.

Tully's Coffee at Orchard Central is right besides Quiznos Sub. So I saw lots of people buying the coffee, and crossing over to Quiznos to enjoy the sandwich.

I did the same. I ordered a Matcha Green Tea Latte. LOL. Yes, my favourite flavour right now.

Price: $6.50

I love it: 2 hearts.

It's just a cup of water to quench your thirst I guess.

The cup was totally filled with ice. And my Latte only got to take up the remaining space for liquid. =((( The Matcha Green Tea taste is too blend as well.

I think the fruit blend should be better, as I saw many of them holding red and purple cups of water.

Quiznos Sub @ Orchard Central

I did a LOT of shopping at 313 Somerset. I really like the place. So much better than the last two Orchard Central and Ion@Orchard.

I like the way it's so compact, and so "human" to walk. One escalator leads right to the other as you browse the shops. No u-turning. No frantic search for toilet or the lift.

And wow! The toilet is beautiful! I love the vanity mirrors portion. And they opened up a 3/4 length window for us to view orchard from the toilet!

The washing "basins" are perfect too. And the hand towels are located under all mirrors, right in front of you. No fighting for the tissue paper to wipe your hands. =)

******

The shops are more than excellent. Multiple storeys of Forever 21, Zara, Mango, Chaos, Uniqlo. Food is always in reach, as they sort of organised it such that each level has something.

Food Republic is there. I think we all know that Food Republic serves the best foodcourt food.

Hmmm, what else? Definitely a shopping mall to go back to. My favourite along Orchard has always been Wisma. Now I can add 313 to the list.

******

Okay, enough of 313 for now. It's Quiznos Sub coming your way, in Orchard Central, the neighbouring mall, and the highly inaccessible, horribly designed mall. I think its name totally stinks from day 1 cos of this. It's like you walk from B2 to L1 and you decide enough is enough! No more of this stupid mall. Reminds me of Causeway Point - another designer failure.

So is Quiznos Sub worth your venture into Orchard Central??? And how does it measures up against sandwich giant Subway?

Positively Nice's Verdict: YES!

My take on Quiznos, is that the price, and literally EVERYTHING is the same as Subway.

I tried the so called famous Mesquite Chicken, and I must say, it's very soft, and will probably make it to your "Tenderest Chickens in Singapore List". But truly special? Not, in my opinion.

I particularly like the Wheat Bread though. I have not come across such soft wheat bread. I would classify the bread as the only difference I see in Quiznos and Subway. But I still prefer Subway, cos I like Parmesan Oregano bread more. And I like toasted crispy bread more as well.

It's more of a matter of personal food preference here.

I love it: 5 hearts.
Go ahead and spend your money here if you are in town, thinking of a healthier lunch, and craving for Subway or sandwiches. =)

Please hammer me for not charging my handphone before an expedition. There are no pics cos my hp ran so low on batt that the camera can't work. I am so sorry.

I intend to go and try the Chili Turkey sandwich though. So will load pics when I go again.

Marvelous Cream - French Sweet Parfait @ 313 Somerset

More nice things at 313 Somerset! That is Marvelous Cream - French Sweet Parfait!

It is located at a pretty obvious location, as I spooted it at the far end when I turned my head left, right from the escalator as I ascended Level 1 of 313 Somerset.

Besides it is an Italian Restaurant, and on the right, before you reach it, you will walk pass a Thai Restaurant. Both didn't look like Must-Trys to me (the Italian looks worth it if you want a proper meal.) Only Marvelous Cream really stood out. So I thought, I just have to try that!

Matcha Green Tea Shortcake $6.90

The outlet is small, with only about 6 seats. Youngsters make up the majority of the crowd that sat inside, and bother to step in and take a look.

Luckily, the things sold there can be easily taken away, and eaten as you walk. I'd so love to sit down and enjoy my parfait though!

The Looks
I don't think anyone will disagree that my Matcha Green Tea Shortcake looks unappealing. I am quite proud of myself for taking a pic that makes the food looks advertisement-perfect! hahaha. okok, I can be very thick-skinned at times.

The Taste
I totally, totally love Matcha Green Tea flavour. It's my latest flavour craze. I have Matcha Green Tea flavoured Pocky from Beijing, and it's great. Then I have Green Tea tiny cakes from Beijing too. And I tried Matcha soya bean drink from Jollibean as well. Gosh, I still remember the last time I developed a flavour craze, it was for Strawberry Cheesecake. I still *heart* strawberry cheesecake to the max now.

Yup, so anyway, it's obvious that I enjoyed the parfait. Please don't order Matcha Green Tea if you don't like it. I know there are people who shun green tea flavourings and will choose chocolate anytime.

Price-worthiness??
Honestly, not. This parfait thing is not something that you absolutely must eat. And even if you ate it, it need not be Marvelous Cream brand.

There are a dozen outlets out there, like Baskin Robbins, Gelare and stuff that sell the exact same thing with the exact same taste. (As a matter of fact, I recently ordered 2 scoops ice cream in the exact same waffle bowl from Baskin Robbins in Beijing. It's the same. BR has excellent coffee ice cream though.)

Seriously, how different can waffle taste?? And how different can a mixture of chocolate ice cream, or vanilla with mango or whatever taste??

Nice is nice, because I love ice cream. But more like the step-in-try-something, once-and-that's-it sort of shop.

I love it: 3 hearts.
I don't recommend that you waste your money there. Invest in a real meal that fills your tummy at Quiznos Sub - in my next blog post. =)

Blue Mountain Cafe @ 313 Somerset

Blue Mountain Cafe Logo.

So walking out of Uniqlo, I was immediately greeted by the surprising sight of Blue Mountain Cafe. Surprising because I had coincidentally researched on Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica just a week ago, and surprising because I had not found any traces of the existence of Blue Mountain Coffee in Singapore.

The entrance (+ queue part) of Blue Mountain Cafe.

For some reason or other, it doesn't seems that there are mass market channels to buy Blue Mountain Coffee or even taste it in Singapore. And the most direct way to touch it would be to order online.

The cafe display.

As such, I was delighted to see the phrase Blue Mountain appearing in front of me today.

I took a seat, which happened to be rather strategic for taking pictures. =)

Of course, the story goes that I just had to try it for myself, and so I got myself in line, waited for a seat, and ordered a couple of the cafe's famous items.

The Menu.

Blue Mountain Coffee

Blue Mountain Coffee served.

Price: $9.90

The Look
It was served in vintage China, with a metal spoon, and poured from a tiny pot that can only hold a single brew. I guess this way ensures the freshness and purity of each serving.

The wears that Blue Mountain Coffee is served in. Notice the individual serving brewing pot and stand.

The Taste & Experience
It indeed is not bitter at all, just like what I've read. Just slightly sour, yet not offensive. Also, the famous exceedingly fragrant aroma is as real as I've read. The smell is addictive, such that I had to take a deep breath before I took each sip of it. It lingers on beautifully like the attractive perfume from your dream girl, even after I cleared the cup of every last drop.

Much as many have attested to Blue Mountain being sweet, I did not taste sweetness at all. I had half a mind to add milk and sugar, yet I held back, for I truly believed, from the moment I read about it, that this world's most sought after coffee, is to be enjoyed in its true form.

I take my restrain as a prove that the Blue Mountain is not in the least bit bitter. Just as I cannot stand the cold in Beijing, I cannot stand bitterness. I firmly believe, even till now, that I must add milk and sugar to all coffee, before I can take it down my throat. So the milk, sugar and stirring process has long became a habit of mine. But I guess I have to register Blue Mountain as an exception now.

I love it: 2.5 hearts.
Purely sour, though mild sour coffee, that is thin, is just not my cup of coffee. I still prefer thick, very thick and aromatic type of coffee.

Personal Note: It is actually extremely similar to Indonesian Coffee, which I have tasted when my brother brought back a box from a mission trip. I still have quite a bit of Indo Coffee left in the kitchen cabinet... ... I heard from the Restaurant Manager that there is a sort of Indo Coffee that is held in very high regard as well.

I rate the tasting experience 5/5 though. What better way can one enjoy a late afternoon, other than a cup of "new" coffee is a relaxing cafe right after shopping?

******

I have not yet blogged about Old Town White Coffee. But just a quick note here. It is still No. 1 according to my taste buds. Kind of more Singaporean taste, since majority of us were exposed to thick and rich Nescafe since I don't know when. Plus we are always marketed coffee that are rich... ... So we are more prone to believing that good coffee, especially those labelled Premium are thick and rich ones.

If you are not a coffee person, I think you might like Blue Mountain. It's more like slightly sour drink than coffee.

Yet in the objective sense, it would be better to say that Blue Mountain and Old Town White Coffee are simply two vastly different things that cannot be measured on the same scale. They are different experiences altogether, and both are excellent in their fields.

Rosemary Chicken

Rosemary Chicken served.

Price: $8.50

Another thumbs up for Blue Mountain Cafe. This Chef's Recommendation definitely lives up to its expectations. I love it so much I just had to scrap up all the rosemary sauce onto my chicken. The moment this dish was served, the delightful scent of rosemary reached my nose. The instinctive response was simply to cut up the chicken and eat! Goodness I managed to whip out my camera and patiently took pictures before I was finally satisfied to cut it up.

The chicken being boneless made it all the more delightful to eat. Matched with mildly seasoned vegetables and really nice mashed potatoes, this dish is a clear winner in my memory of meat dishes. (Others include Kim Gary Rum Grill, and Billy Bombers Pork Ribs.)

Look at the boneless tender meat!

It really helps that the chicken is pretty healthy if you do not eat the skin. The vegetables are seasoned with a little bit of Olive Oil too (quite little that I almost couldn't tell). The mash potato serving is minimal. In all, it is really just nice for a girl to enjoy, yet finish up.

I love it: 5 hearts.
This is a must try, and I was surprised that the pricing is lower than Swensen's.

Blue Mountain Junior Mudpie

Blue Mountain Mudpie Junior served.

Price: $5.90

This is another Chef's Recommendation. But definitely not a must try in my opinion.

By the name of it, I expected it to taste of Blue Mountain Coffee. Apparently, it did not. It just tasted like normal ice cream cake with crushed oreo bits and a little mildly dark chocolate syrup. I am pretty sure those you see in the pic are oreo crumbs... ...

The mudpie close-up.

And the pink coloured part does not even remotely tastes like strawberry ice cream. More like coloured sweetened ice cream. No vanilla, nothing.

However, if you like chocolate mudpies, I guess, it's pretty worth it.

IMO, after browsing the menu, I didn't exactly feel like ordering any dessert, as they all looked extremely normal to me, even all the Chef's Recommendation.

I love it: 3 hearts.
Taste wise, still pretty delicious for a sweet tooth like mine. But it was a disappointment. I tried pouring a teaspoonful of Blue Mountain Coffee on the mash potato, and it didn't really enhance the taste. I think it is not a good idea to use Blue Mountain Coffee as coffee flavour in desserts or anything. It's just to mild. Probably wouldn't make good tiramisu.

My artwork on the plate. It happened to turn out like a seashell after I finished eating.

Cafe Service

The cafe is nicely integrated into the linkway from Uniqlo to the main shopping portion.

Not impressive at all. It was all just basic bringing you to your seat, taking order, serving, passing you the bill.

There was no regard for the display of your cutlery or your plate. No attempt to serve your food near you.

There was no attempt to make you feel warm and comfortable as well. Not exactly friendly, though still responsive enough, and probably would help you if you asked.

Waiting time to serve food is about 15 minutes. Standard. But slow compared to places like Kim Gary.

The cafe is pretty popular, probably due to the novelty and the really good resting location right outside Uniqlo. Seats were always filled, even at 4pm. And queue started as 5pm approches.

The cafe was full-house even 4pm.

Overall, it was pretty much neutral. Nothing extraordinary. Nothing to complain about.

As compared to Old Town White Coffee Jurong Point Outlet, it is really a vast difference. Just a $1 tiny cup of coffee made me feel the human touch that was as thick as the coffee itself.

Overall experience: 3.2 hearts.
I will still go back again to try the coffee. Cos they have seldom seen brews like Brazillian, Mexican etc. All at $5.90, except for Blue Mountain at $9.90.

The immediate view from my seat. Kind of artistic to capture the lady on the left end.

The shops in 313 Somerset, on my left view.

The shops on my right view.

The shops at the top.

That's my Blue Mountain experience for you. =)

Beijing Episode 2 + Today's Adventure: Uniqlo @ 313 Somerset

I just decided that I had better blog about today before it's gone. I had a great time exploring 313 Somerset today.

I know, I am pretty late, as it opened about 1 month ago. Didn't have time to go there before my Beijing trip. But I think I really made up for it all in 4 hours today.

Plus, I visited the neighbouring Orchard Central AGAIN. Just to give it another chance, cos I totally failed, in fact negative that shopping mall after my first visit (which I was genuinely upbeat about).

******

I am starting off with Uniqlo@313 Somerset because I am currently so totally in love with Uniqlo, I feel like I am an ambassador for it.

I made today's Orchard trip just for Uniqlo even. My motive was to go to visit this new outlet, and get a pair of jeans or two, maybe the coloured pants. Cos I've tried the Regular Fit on at the Tampines 1 outlet, and OH GOSH, it's a dream come true for big-hips gals like me.

Unfortunately, the coloured pants are still more tailored for skinny fit, and I can't get a size that fits my big thighs and my much smaller waists & hips perfectly. (Personal note: 61cm is the closest, though 64cm fits the legs better, so looks better too.)

And unfortunately once more, the $20 discount for the Regular Fit jeans is off already. (Of course it's off, the last I saw it, was like when? 3 weeks ago? Before I left for Beijing... ... I was just hoping, more like wishing in my dreams that the promo would still be on. LOL. Silly me.)

But gals, trust me. If you always can't find a proper fit jeans, and always can't even wear pants, cos they never fit beautifully, Regular Fit from Uniqlo is THE ONE! Look out for the promo okay.

haha. okay, Honestly, I had brushed aside Uniqlo as a lousy brand in Singapore, cos it's so way too overpriced here. Look at how much it costs in Japan, and you'd never want to pay a cent more than the promo price. (It's known to be the Cheap & Good street wear brand in Japan, that's why it's No. 1. It can't be classified as cheap in SG by any measurement, considering our standard of living is more or less the same as Japan.)

******

However, if you are not busy comparing prices as I did above, I can assure you that your money is worth every single cent of the QUALITY you are paying for.

Reason being, I got all my winter wear for Beijing from Uniqlo. And it works miraculous miracles for me. Totally saved my dear life from freezing up in winter China.

I really, really want to thank my SO for his gift to me for Beijing. He bought me the winter wear, as he was very worried about me as he knows I am awfully scared of cold. My limit is 22 deg C. In Dec Singapore, I need to wear jacket in the house. That's how scared I am. And yes, I can live without air-con. In fact, I kind of hate the air-con.

The outermost winter coat from Uniqlo is really good, because it is sooooo thin and lightweight. It won praises from many of the schoolmates.

The best part? Uniqlo Outermost Coat is so CHEAP! The short one can be gotten at $79 - $99. And mine is only $129. The prices for negative temperature coats at Winter Time were simply ridiculous, which is why my SO and I stepped out of the store empty-handed while we were shopping for winter wear.

Just a note: Don't have to buy the knee-length one. It doesn't makes a difference, since my thighs were still cold.

The fleece jacket is the second greatest thing. It's so good, I have already decided to wear it in air-con Singapore. I sort of found out that fleece is a very good warm material, better than cotton. (But cashmere, pure 100% cashmere stuff are still the best.)

And I got all my long-sleeved turtle-neck shirts from Uniqlo too. The fleece ones. Really good, and I love the way it comes in so many colours. So you can actually wear it under some normal sleeveless dress to mix and match, kind of "change" dressing everyday.

I use the turtle necks as long johns. I really don't like the way China long johns like only come in pink, white, and black. Those from Winter Time too. Plus, they look like inner wear, so you will feel ashamed to show it, unless you don't mind showing people your innerwear... ...

******

There is Uniqlo at the nearest shopping mall to my school in Beijing too ( Hua Lian Building at Wu Dao Kou MRT station). So a couple of friends and I actually replenished our winter stock from there a few days into the trip.

It was just cold that we desperately needed to buy more and top up the winter wear. Trust me, at negative 10 deg C, there is no such thing TOO MUCH clothes. Even after all the layers, the body still feels like in an air-con 16-20 deg C state.

All we wanted to do was pile as many layers as we could. Most of us were wearing our entire wardrobe by the 4th day. We were limited by shirt size, and for me, the many layers of turtle necks were strangling me already.

Anyway, so I bought one more Heat Tech hot pink turtle neck long sleeve, two pairs of Heat Tech socks, and a pear of fleece glove.

Okay, honestly, the Heat Tech does not works exactly wonderfully. Not sure if it's China goods or what, but my friend who bought here Heat Tech stuff in SG swears by the turtle necks. She says the SG ones she got are slight thicker... ... Hmmm, so please buy in SG if you can, cos it's the same price in China anyway.

By the way, the reason why we buy Heat Tech is because it promises all the warmth and comfort while being so ridiculously thin. Even thinner then your normal cotton clothes. Do check out Uniqlo and feel it for yourself if you haven't paid attention to the Heat Tech range on your last trip. =) (Which is why Heat Tech socks are very useful when you want to pile on socks. Otherwise, you REALLY CAN'T stuff your foot into the shoes/boots, unless you bought a size bigger, which means you don't plan to wear that shoes in SG, which is not very practical, since it's like wasting money.)

As for the gloves, WOW, that ones works beautifully. I can still vividly remember how warm my hands suddenly felt the very moment I shoved them into the gloves. Not to mention, Uniqlo gloves are undeniably fashionable and beautiful for all the girls out there. (In fact, Uniqlo outermost coat is totally cool, colourful, and fashionable too.)

Aside from my China boots, I think the gloves are my best buys in Beijing. It's a worthwhile investment. SGD20 to save my hands from cold burn and solidifying = Absolutely Worth It.

Winter Note: Leather Gloves DO NOT work at all. Cotton gloves from Daiso DO NOT work in -10 deg C as well. In fact, I don't even think they work at 0 deg C. Those are only meant for mild winter countries like Dec Taiwan or Dec Genting, ~10 - 16 deg C.

Winter Note: I layered my leather gloves under the Uniqlo ones for extra comfort, because both fleece and leather do not break the winds. So you're still going feel cold when the wind blows.

******

Last but not least, I need to review the leggings.

They are absolutely normal. They are merely fashion leggings, and will do nothing for winter. So I guess, do not buy Uniqlo leg stuff if you get winter clothes from them.

Not sure about the pants and socks though. I didn't get those cos they weren't available at Tampines 1 where I did my pre-trip purchase. But there are lots of stocks at 313 Somerset outlet.

So remember to go 313 Somerset if you want to look at the full range. Or Ion. Tamp 1 is sort of small... ...

My winter coats and gloves have been sent for dry cleaning, the quote I got is $15. Still okay. Worth it since these will be stored away for at least a year or more. I will take picture when they come back, and post it. =)

Beijing Episode 1 - Contact Lenses

One of the hottest questions amongst beauty addicts is "Will you abandon your full-fledged skincare regime while overseas?"

But for me, one of the first questions that I asked myself during packing was, "Will you ditch your contact lenses while overseas?"

During the debate with myself, here are the push factors I came up with:
- Too dry on the plane
- Too dry in winter (given that I will be out of hotel for ~18hours)
- Lotion bottle too heavy and bulky
- What if I lost the contact lens? e.g. drop out on the streets
- Using contact lens means lugging my glasses around 24/7 just in case

Here are the pull factors for wearing contact lenses:
- I want to look and feel good
- I don't want my fellow schoolmates to see me in glasses

The results:
I decided to wear my contact lenses, despite the overwhelming push factors.

I was taking quite a big risk of feeling uncomfortable, should my contact lenses dry off on the plane, or halfway through the chilly winter winds, but I am glad it all worked out well. So here are the guidelines if you die-die must wear contact lenses, like me:

- INVEST in a good, reliable brand of lenses. I can tell you that Bausch & Lomb works wonderfully. I swear it doesn't dry and stick on my eyeballs even after sleeping in it throughout the 6 hours flight. And it didn't dry one bit for the 14 days I was in Beijing. I felt really lucky, as many of my friends complain about their contact lenses during the trip. It ended up that these friends either choose not to wear, or only wear them on alternate days.

- Backup your sight with your glasses. I think the spectacle box is not that big an item to carry, compared to the A4 size bag I carry for long outings. And it's almost weightless too.

- I carry along a brand new pair of contact lenses in my bag too.

- And also a bottle of Renu contact lens eye drop, in case the lenses dry out. But I thought the $6 was a waste of money, since I never got a chance to use the eye drop. LOL.

- Save up the travel size washing lotion bottle. I am currently using P2 solution, which comes with the disposable travel tubes of liquid. I love it so much. Cos that means I don't have to worry about the expiry date upon opening. Unlike other brands that give you travel size bottles, but non-disposable.

- Keep your contact lens case in your carry around bag too!! No point bringing the specs, but no case to store your lenses should you really need to remove them.

A lot of my friends ask me the brand of contact lenses I was using (cos my eyes never seem to get irritated during the trip), so I thought of posting it here, that it's Bausch & Lomb SofLens 38. Don't be scared of by the brand, as I myself will not use it if it's too expensive. As I previously posted, Singaporeans can get it pretty cheap here.

Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, & Beijing Episodes

Seasons greetings to everyone!

Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas, and enjoyed opening your presents on Boxing Day.

I had fun unwrapping lots of chocolates, to the point that I know the next rectangular, flat box is going to be a box of chocolates. hahaha. And I tasted all the chocs, so there goes my calories for Boxing Day.

Anyway, I really happy to be back from Beijing after two weeks. And it's time I dusted the layer of cobweb off my blog.

I intend to dedicate a series of posts to Beijing and life in winter, as this trip has taught me a lot of about taking care of oneself in a foreign land. I have lots to rave about, and YES, as a die-hard beauty addict, I have lugged back a box of loots, so there will be lots of product reviews to look forward to.

Actually, the main reason for this series of Beijing post, is because I found a serious lack of information for winter-first-timers like myself, while I was researching for my trip. I know that winter is almost over in the Northern Hemisphere, but hopefully, this will aid Singaporeans in future trips.

PS: Still going to be so busy settling academic matters... =( No real holiday for me.

Nice food or not? It's all in the mind.

First and foremost, I am not sure if this is right or wrong... ... But I think I am shifting Positively Nice's focus from plainly reviews and raves to a more well-rounded beauty diary. But it still means the same thing, cos I will still be talking about things that are Nice, and things that makes us wonderful females more beautiful each day. So I will now also include things like good food, good exercises, good clothes/shopping etc in my writings.

******

I have long heard of the notion that whether one likes or dislikes a certain type of food, especially vegetables for children, it's all psychological, it's all in the mind. And I have always dismissed this notion as rubbish, and things that adults tell children to coax them into eating their vege. I was wrong. And right now, I am finally experiencing this phenomenon myself, and what I can say, is that, the adults are right - this is true.

Since the day I have some sort of memory, I hated vegetables. I refused to eat xiao bai cai, carrots, corn, yam, red beans, green beans, green peas, and anything that is not meat. I grew up not eating vege. And my mum couldn't do anything all those years. I even had to take out the vege in MacD burgers, pick out the tau gay in laksa, and push the cucumbers aside from my chicken rice.

I vaguely remember a girl in my Pri 5 camp telling me to imagine and pretend that the vege were French fries, and then you will be able to just swallow everything. She was right.

Whether vege are nice or not, it's all in the mind. It's about how much you understand this world, and what you want to do with your life, that forms your perception on different types of food.

And my decision about 2 months' ago to lead a healthier lifestyle, really opened me up to so many delicious, nutritious and colourful food out there. I just downed a bowl of red bean soup for breakfast this morning, and I ate the whole can of whole corn kernels over the weekend. I enjoyed them so much I regret being biased against vege for 20 years. I hate myself for missing out on all these my entire life.

Here is a list (more of a personal diary note) of the things I have learned so far:
- being active everyday (just gentle yoga, a swim, or cooling dawn/evening walk) really increases your energy, makes you feel happier, more satisfied with life etc.

- eating healthy gives you good skin (more moisturized/lighter fine lines, virtually no acne/pimples, less sensitive)

And I not only have facial prove of it, but also scar proof. My skin is quite bad at healing after mosquito bites, so there are quite a number of scars on my legs. In one of my old posts, I recommended this cream --> 止痒膏 Ammeda Shiyoko Ointment.

What I observed recently, is that that particular hard to go away, more than 5 year old scar, is AuToMaTiCaLlY drying off, peeling, and fading, and growing new skin back nicely. I attribute it to my nutritious food, as I have been lazy to apply that cream for quite long already.

- I am more easy-going with food. I can eat more types of food. And my food is more colourful and appealing.

- INDEED, parents/adults/old people are very, very wise, and they tell us things For Our Own Good. I just discovered how cheap and good red bean soup breakfast is today. And other good things like ginger and garlic, porridge, sweet potatoes etc. (My PAP kindergarten used to give it to us kids at least once a week.) It's like suddenly, I understand that as long I follow my mum and grandma, it wouldn't be all that wrong in life.

I am not sure if it will work or not, but I feel that if you know anyone who is fussy with food, especially little children, the best way to make them eat it, is EdUcAtIoN. People need to know why they are doing things before they can do it from the bottom of their heart.

Right now, I wish I were more educated about the benefits of good food (by good, I am referring to nutritious and filling, rather than expensive dining) when I were young. If I could turn back the clock, the first thing that I want to change, would probably to never have became obese. I wish I didn't go to Mac at least once a week, KFC at least twice a month, BK at least once a month, and snacked, tea-ed, and supper-ed everyday.

And perhaps in line with what our government is going for right now, I hope that I can make more people aware and desire the healthier lifestyle, and seriously make an effort to prevent ourselves or future generations from sliding down the American way.

Some basic site to teach yourself about good food:
- Mayo Clinic (take note of the Top 10 good food)
- Livestrong (more for reliable calorie comparison)

Note: For those interested in a true story of how obesity results in disaster, please view this:
Dead Weight part 1 - Air Crash Investigation/Mayday
(This example may be a little exaggerated to bring out my point. But it is a true story nevertheless.)

There are no horrible food, there is only your horrible perception of it. =)

Stay Happy!

Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion - The Body Shop

I have never believed in foot lotions. Or other funny things like neck cream... Maybe one day, we will have something called "back cream", "arm cream", "thigh cream". (ok, very sarcastic.)

But honestly, that is my feeling towards all these funny body moisturizing lotions. I wouldn't buy a foot cream just to try/review it... ... Got this for free with my TBS purchases some weeks ago. So here goes:

Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion - The Body Shop

Available: The Body Shop outlets

Volume: 250ml $20.90

Star Properties: Natural grape acids for additional skin smoothing benefits.

I will not go into details of the packaging and all, cos all TBS products are basically the same as others I have reviewed, like Honey Shampoo and Cocoa Butter Lotion.

Fragrance
Very good. If you like peppermint and fragrances, you will definitely like this.

Effect
None that I can feel.

I love it: 0 hearts.

haha, I really don't see the point in buying this. Don't want to be applying something just for the nice smell. I think the Cocoa Butter Body Lotion is a better choice to moisturize your feet, if you want to go for TBS products. =))
